Hurricane Shutter Danger: Orlando Local 6 News Interviews Williams Law Firm

Orlando’s Local 6 News reported on hurricane shutter dangers.

Hurricane shutter danger is real. This issue is behind Winter Park attorney Glenn Williams’ petition to the Consumer Protection Agency, asking them to mandate that interior release mechanisms be installed on all hurricane shutters. Danger like this is potentially life threatening.

Mr. Williams has filed the petition on behalf of Florida families who lost loved ones. 72-year-old Jeannette Lazarick was trapped and died in a kitchen fire in Hollywood, Florida. She had windows with corrugated metal storm shutters closed ‘securely’.

It can take a firefighter 45 minutes to get through a window that has hurricane shutters. Attorney Glenn Williams wants “…to prevent somebody else’s mother, brother, father, sister from dying.”
